Kim Boykin is absolutely delightful. She writes the way she lives — deeply and passionately. I loved the interview, Diana and Kim. The book sounds wonderful! And I have to add my favorite roses–the climbing rose Zephirine Drouhin and the white scented Guinivere rose. They both smell amazing.
And I have to admit I love having my hair done. Even with the threat of a sequestration furlough, my husband told me the one thing I don’t have to cut back on is getting my hair cut and colored. It turns me into a new woman as well.
I love the tag line “I we can change our hair we can change our lives.” So wise.
See, Sharon, that’s why your husband is so smart, he knows where to put his “war” resources and which “battle” he won’t win! LOL. Both of those roses sound wonderful! I can’t wait to try them out.
Thanks for sharing! As for roses, I’m a sucker for Legends or the Oprah rose. They are BIG and beautiful and I have great luck with them. And having our hair done is one of the most loving things we can do for ourselves. It recharges us on so many levels. My 82 year old mother has a horrible time with aches and pains but on the day she gets her cut and color she gets better and says it’s good for the soul. I think she’s right!
My hair COLOR affects who I am. It’s crucial for me not to see a trace of the massive amounts of gray! In terms of a style…I plead utter laziness. I probably should change this one…that I’ve had for 15 years, LOL! Just too easy to slip into a ponytail and go, instead of styling products, a blow dryer and flat iron. (Never Skype me unaware.)

Thanks, Sarah! I’m all about the easy do for sure. A pony tail at 55 might be taking ti too far, but it’s my hair and I wore it short, the way my husband, or my mother, or even his mother wanted for so long. It’s my turn!
The book sounds wonderful! I loved the story about your mother, Kim. That’s a real inspiration and shows it’s the little things that mean so much in life. Congratulations on your debut! Nope, not me. I love those hair videos, too. I’m always trying new things with my super long hair. Still, I don’t think anyone would want to see “me” doing it. LOL.
I love everything about getting my hair done–the smell of shampoo, getting my hair washed, the gossip, the blow out. It’s like a 2 hour mini-escape from responsibility. The book sounds great, Kim! Diana, I’m with you on the Julia Child rose 🙂 Happy release week!

Thanks Krista, I’m with you. I’m grateful for a couple of hours of pampering because I don’t do a lot of that for myself. As my mom says, getting your hair done is good for the soul. Smart Lady.

I totally understand the importance of hair, having done it for almost 20 years now (oh my gosh, don’t tell anyone it’s been THAT LONG…. AAACCKK) Anyway, the book sounds fun, I will have to get out and pick up a copy.
The rose gardens sound wonderful. I always liked roses, but never grew any, partially because I kill any plants. I truly have a black thumb. I’d like to do my lawn in rock and concrete, so I can’t ruin it. (But I bet I could find a way, lol)
